Lentine & Delany: Back to Back to Back
Ray and Eli won the MBN Classic Team Championship for 2019. Because of the Covid the entire tournament schedule was thrown to the wind and after that September 2019 TOC the next team tournament wasn’t until July 10th on Congamond. Ray and Eli won that with 17+ pounds. The next tournament was this past Friday, September 11, on Webster Lake. They won their third tournament in a row with 20.44 pounds for 5 largemouth.
September 11th was a cloudy day with a 15 degree temperature drop from the day before. Webster Lake was lower than it had been in years. Add to the mix that the lake had been sprayed to where even some of the small coves were devastated. This team thought about low tide in some of the tidal rivers they had fished, to where the bass moved out on low tide. That’s where the bass were, but if there was any weed at all – the bass were there. The bigger bass came from the two marinas off the deeper ends of the boats.
There is no MBN Classic Team TOC this year. Eli and Ray would have been looking forward to it.
South Watuppa 8/2
The Sunday classic team trail had its second tournament. This past Sunday on South Watuppa. The day started with great weather. As the day progressed the wind kicked up and showers were closing In. For most the bite was slow to non existent for hours. Even with the weather moving in. That some of us thought would turn the fish on. However as it happens many times one team puts something together. That team was the Orsi’s with a great bag 15.73 and lunker a 5.51 largemouth. Congrats guys for a second great win. They earned every penny out there and points. Congrats again guys. I will see everyone at our next event on Long pond lakeville September 6th. Thank you everyone for coming out on Sunday and being a great crew of guys.
Thank you Ben Hale
FRIDAY TEAM TOURNAMENT TRAIL CHANGES
The Friday Team Trail IS NOT going to New Hampshire for the final two tournaments. For various reasons it has been decided to keep these tournaments local.
AUG 7th Miscupic Lake in Tyngsboro
Sept 11 Webster Lake (state ramp)
Josh has bowed out of running the trail, so Jim Moorey, MAtty Klinker, Dusty Chaulk and I will run these two tournaments. There has never been a MBN tournament on Miscupic and it ts a great big bass lake. We all know the potential of Webster Lake, so the last two tournaments should be a blast.
Please text me if you plan on fishing one or both. 508-826-7471. There is a 10 boat limit and we already have several from the Congamond tournament that has said they will be a both. First to contact me - first to fish, so don't be #11 :)
Don't forget that you need to prepay: $220 includes $20 lunker. Instruction on how are on facebook post and the website.
100% Payback! See you in a few days.
Kicking off the Sunday team trail a late start to the year.
First I want to thank everyone for coming to the tournament in these unprecedented times, and following the guidelines we had. The weather was good but was post frontal conditions. Major thunderstorms ran throughout mass almost all week. Even given the post frontal conditions the Orsi’s Father and son came out with the win 17.72 congrats guys. They definitely put there work in leaving the rest of us behind. Jake Santos and Ben Hale Had the lunker 6.40lbs great fish but they needed a couple more like that to even the odds to come close to the Orsi’s. Unfortunately they had to settle for second. Most teams caught there limits and grinded it out till the end. Our next Sunday team trail open tournament is on S. Wuttupa 8\2 see you there.
